Our luminaires operate autonomously, setting them apart from traditional grid-connected systems. Implementing solar lighting effectively demands expertise in both lighting and energy.
For every project, our design team performs a thorough feasibility study to identify the best luminaire for your needs. We ensure 365 nights of uninterrupted lighting, delivering reliable performance even in the toughest conditions.
During the day, the solar panel (1) captures energy from the sun's rays (2), storing this energy in the battery (3) going through the controller (4).
At nightfall (or when you need it), the energy stored in the battery then powers the LED( 5) by going through the controller.
Plug and play system
Our process begins with in-depth discussions with your team to understand every aspect of your project, including lighting targets, national lighting standards, location constraints, and specific requirements. With this information, SOLUX conducts a detailed Dialux light simulation. This simulation allows us to identify the ideal power, optics, and quantity of luminaires needed to achieve your lighting goals effectively and efficiently. Our approach ensures precise planning tailored to the unique needs of your project.
Dialux Simulations
With the power selection and lighting program defined in the preceding steps, our team can now accurately calculate the system's daily consumption. Knowing the power output and operating hours, including dimming periods, allows us to move to the next step: precisely sizing the components. We base this on the highest daily consumption, typically occurring in winter when nights are longest, to ensure reliable year-round performance tailored to your project’s needs.

Daily consumption
Using our meteorological database software, we simulate the energy production of the selected solar panel based on your project's location, weather, irradiation, pollution levels, and temperature. The panel must generate more energy than the daily consumption to properly charge the battery, even during the months with the lowest solar radiation. We include a safety margin of over 30% to ensure reliable, year-round performance, even in the worst weather conditions. .

The energy produced by the solar panel is stored in the battery, which powers the luminaire at night. Selecting the right battery capacity is crucial—it must cover the daily consumption and provide at least 2 days of autonomy for backup. Beyond autonomy, the battery size significantly impacts its lifespan, as a larger capacity allows for a lower Depth of Discharge (DoD), extending the battery's life. And, of course, we use Lithium LiFePO₄—the best of the best!
