LiFePO₄ lithium battery
The battery stores the energy needed after dark. Its capacity and operating conditions affect how long the light can run and when the battery may need replacing.
Solux uses LiFePO₄ batteries with a stated service life of over 10 years and 5,000 cycles. Actual service life depends on temperature, charging and depth of discharge.
Battery technologies differ in cycle life and operating temperature range. Compare these characteristics alongside capacity when selecting a system.
Solux has over 500,000 products installed across a range of climates, providing field experience alongside laboratory testing.

Laboratory tests on selected Solux and commercially available batteries.
*Depth of Discharge (DoD) measures how much of a battery’s capacity has been used, expressed as a percentage. It is calculated by dividing the discharged capacity by the battery’s total capacity. For instance, a 1000 Wh battery discharged by 250 Wh has a DoD of 25%.

Solux Led
Technology
The PHILIPS LED chips have a stated lifetime of over 100,000 hours and an efficacy above 196 lm/W. Heat management helps the modules maintain their performance in use.
Electronic protection helps prevent overheating of the luminaire.
Controlling the LED temperature helps protect the module and extend its service life.

Solux microwaves
sensor technology
Microwave sensors detect movement using reflected high-frequency waves. The lighting level can then increase when a person or vehicle passes.
The benefits of microwave detectors include:
Depending on the model, detection covers up to 360°. Sensor range and settings are chosen to suit the area being lit.
Microwaves technology

Microwaves 360° coverage

Charge controller
The brain of the system
The controller manages battery charging and runs the lighting schedule, including dimming and switching times.
An aluminium enclosure protects the controller electronics and dissipates heat. The controller also provides protection against:
Overload / Overcurrent / Overtemperature / Overvoltage / Overdischarge

MPPT charge control
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) adjusts the panel’s operating point to make use of the available solar energy for charging.
